Description
Notes
A striking biennial and one of the most striking wildflowers but very easy to grow. It tolerates poor soil, but needs full sun. The basal rosette is intricately fern-like and very compact. When blooming, an array of brilliant scarlet trumpets adorns a tall, flowering stalk of 3-6'. Reseeds freely, and must have dryish, well-drained soil. Hummer and butterfly attractor. Can reseed. Native in sandy rocky soils e. Texas thru SE USA.
