Fraxinus americana is a deciduous tree. Grows to 80 ft. or taller, with a straight trunk and an oval-shaped crown to 50 ft. wide. Leaves 8-15 in. long with five to nine dark green, oval leaflets, paler beneath and turns purplish in fall.
