The pink form of California fuchsia grows in part-shade in most areas, full shade in the interior heat, full sun in cool summer areas. The pink form of California Fuchsia is used by the hummingbirds, but with not the gusto and bravado provided the straight California species, so I'd guess the nectar is not as delectable. - Bert Wilson www.laspilitas.com
Dig hole, insert plant slightly higher than soil grade. Disturb root ball very little. No amendments, just native soil. No fertilizers. Backfill the hole .Water lavishly. Mulch top of soil around plant in a 4' diameter circle. - Bert Wilson Las Pilitas
